Heartbeat of the Ozark Car Show

may 16th, 2009 we attended the heartbeat of the ozark car show in downtown rogers. they are a local car club in the area to benefit juvenile diabetes. the weather was again rainy and chilly so when we got there bob was already there with camp crass up and ready. we saved a spot for gary cause he likes to sleep in and we like to get there early for a good spot. they were giving out trophy to top 40 trophies for older model cars and top 10 for newer models, and many specialty awards. the trophies were big i must say i have not seen nicer trophies yet this year.
i entered my 1950 chevy truck (the peppermint express)Gary entered his 1967 ford mustang (but didn't have it judged)bob entered his 2007 ford mustang (misty) and ray shopped at the silent auction and the vendor booths since he sold his 1932 plymouth sedan (the general) and is building a 1967 chevy camaro rs ss (hopefully to be finished by next car show season)
we won many door prizes.

and the wipe out board well it was exciting i must say.
let me explain how if works for those of you that do not know. there is a board with numbers on it and you buy number and then as the numbers get drawn you lose if your number is call. when it gets to the last 2 numbers they ask the two contestants to either split the pot or go for it. and whose ever number is the last number on the board wins the pot.
so this year i picked 5 and 50, ray and cody picked a bunch(to many to remember), bob also bought some as well. as the day goes on they draw numbers and people continue to lose but not us 4. when they get to the last 5 numbers on the board we all 4 and another guy was still in the running. so drew again and called bobs number, so that left me, cody, ray, and one other guy still in. they called the 4th number and it was ray. so it was me, cody and the other guy. i asked cody if it came down between me and him did he want to split the money or go for it and may the best son or mom win and he said go for it. the third to the last number was called it and was cody's so out he was. me and the other guy walked up there and they ask us do you want to split it and i told the guy it did not matter to me (some is better than none any day). so we split and won $50.00 each.
after that bit of excitement they started handing out trophies and we all did well. gary won a specialty award (would have won another had he been judged)
bob won a specialty award and top 10 newer cars
i won police chiefs choice, specialty award for from C&S Customs for chrome, and top 40 older model cars. i was in the top 14 of the 40 which place i'm not sure but mine was called right before they called best of show. which was won by a camaro pictured below.

MAGIC DRAGON STREET MEET NATIONALS 2009

we traveled to lake ozark, missouri april 30th and stayed until may 3rd. this is our best car show each year so far. last year there were 720 entries in the car and my 1950 chevy truck did not place however ray took his 32 plymouth sedan and it took 1st in the all year model sedans.

ray and i along with the hagars, and the crass's had a wonderful time. also ashley, cody, cory marcy and ethan (not pictured) were also there for the weekend.

i entered my 1950 chevy truck (the peppermint express) in the modified trucks 1900-1964cody entered his escalade golf cart in the special interest class.gary entered his 1967 mustang in the street machine class 1970-1990ashley entered my california roadster golf cart also in the special interest class. bob entered his 2007 ford mustang (misty) in the street machines 1990-present

the weather that weekend was much to be desired. the forecast showed rain all weekend and that it did except for saturday which in all reality was the main day for the show. it was judgement day if you will. the rain stayed gone until the show was over but we didn't get to cruise that night cause it looked very rainy. we did how ever do the friday night cruise which we had never done before and we will probably not do again. once was enough for that cause it wasn't what all we thought it would be. however we can now say that we cruised the bagnell dam. we decided for the last night there to just set up a little camp outside the hotel and order pizza and have our own little car show and believe it or not there were alot of people with the same idea. we enjoyed the night laughing and talking with friends.
sunday was the award ceremony and yes it was raining off and on but we set up camp crass (a blue tent) and before long headed down to the stage to get a good seat. the out come was good. they gave out awards for top 2 in each class.
bob won 1st in his class 1990-present street machines
ashley won runner up in the special interest class (which cody claimed the award cause she didn't want to walk up there are get it plus he did all the cleaning on it cause she isn't good at that cleaning stuff)
i tied for 1st place (which is good with me since lat year i didn't place at all) with the ford f-100 pictured below.

gary did not place this year but they still had a wonderful time. here we are proud of the awards we received and we also found out there were 854 entries this year that attended not including the entries that didn't show up due to the weather. this was a record year for the magic dragon street meet nationals in lake ozark, missouri. i am so glad we attended despite the weather and hopefully they will break another record next year.

she made the team

she made the golf team. never played a game of golf ever except the occasional round of putt putt.
she went and bought her own clubs (or golf sticks as she calls them) and of course just like me they had to be pink.

i am very proud of her to do something that she has never done before and she my not be the most experienced lady golfer or even have a coach at this point but i do think that she will be the best dressed golfer out there on the green.

REACH PROJECT

cody and ray made this years reach (gifted & talented) project the best of the 5th grade class. the theme this year was structures and cody wanted to build the phoenix Arizona cardinals stadium, and that they did.
it took them all of this year to complete it. his teacher was amazed at the detail and time that cody took to do it. now granted it took 3 people to carry it and a rocket scientist to work it but cody and ray knew how and that's all that matters.

the field even rolled out like the real field to get sun light.
this will be a project to remember for a lifetime.

A little fender bender
Yesterday on the why to her job ash was rear ended the damage is hardly visible but the metal under the bumper is pushed up. The lady the rear ended Ash told her not to call police cause she knew she would get a ticket and the thing about is that she was a insurance agent herself. Seriously!
I called today and got the claim number and such.
I didn't go to the scene because I knew that she would need to know what to do in the future but also I didn't figure the police officer would appreciate me there panicked. She handled the situation perfectly.
This is memorial weekend and for the first time in years we have no plans at all. We have some friends coming over Sunday to paint some chairs I bought for the pool area. I will post pictures next week.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy memorial day. Spend time with the family and the friends you have and make memories to remember

Busy busy busy bee!
Wow that's what I have been the past couple of days. I have been up early every morning and to bed late.
I have been busy with work, appointments, school stuff, and trying to get the pool stuff completed so I can have a grand opening pool party to kick off the summer. But that's kinda tricky because we just got the pool installed and I have to finish out a corner of the barn as my pool house and get more concert poured for bigger sitting areas and things like that.
Tomorrow I am starting my exercise routine back up and no carbs after 3. It seems to be helping a friend of ours so I'm gonna yet it. I have set a small goal for myself of 10 by the 4th of july.
I also am trying to plan a 4th of kilt party that we host every year. Whew!!!!
I live for this stuff though.

completion

all school year long miss ash has been driving to fayetteville in the early a.m. before regular school even starts and working on her certification as a dental assistant. she goes to this school (as she likes to call big girl school) 2 hours a day and then drives back to rogers where she finishes the day at regular school (or as she likes to call it little girl school). 2 weeks ago she had her awards assembly and received her certification for dental assisting in Arkansas. she will continue this program next year for her 2 year certification for assisting in other states. which at little girl school she will be a senior. :( then she will leave the nest and off the college she will go ( i'm crying).

today she calls me to inform me that she doesn't have to go to big girl school any more this school year and just a few more days of little girl school and she will be a senior.
OK i know she is excited about this and all because i remember being her age and wanting my own life but come on you have got to stop young lady because the water buckets under my eye balls are tried. yes ma'am they are they have cried more this school year than ever because i know that soon you will be out of the nest and my worries will only get worst. for instance, i will worry about your food, your laundry, your gas, robberies, if your wearing dirty clothes, if you have money, and this list could go on forever. so just STOP IT right now before i tell your dad!!!!!

Today was a fabulous day. Re and I woke up went and to walmart to get stuff for the grill for supper.
When we got home I finished mowing and re got some things done around the house for me that I have had on my to do list forever it seems. I did some laundry and watched cre and his friend play in the pool for the first time since its been installed. We grilled and sit on the deck and ate. That was the first time we had done that this year. Now we are heading in to the office to get a head start for the work week ahead. It amazes me how the little things that we hardly ever get to do are the ones I miss the most since we have the business and work there all the time. There are 10 more days of school so I am going to try to stay home during the day with the kids while their home and work in the afternoon and early morning. I guess I will have to see how that works out. Also starting my diet tomorrow. Oh my

I will also blog about it later hopefully tomorrow if I finish it.
I know I have Been blogging a lot more than once a day some days but I am behind on a few memories I want to share. Hopefully I will get caught up this coming week.

Happy Wedding Anniversary

i love this man...........
he is my best friend, my protector, my provider, my lover, my soulmate.
on may 11th, 1997 i marrried the greatest man of all time.
i love him as much today as i did 12 years ago. he has always been there for me no matter how big or small the issue is. he is a great father, son, brother, husband, and friend. he is a master of all things he puts his mind to. i look at him with those feeling that is that of a new relationship. i have always told him he reminds me of my grandpa. he is the hardest worker i know, never afraid to do anything as long as it is in the best interest of his family.
you have made be the woman i am today, and for this i thank you.

happiness is being married to your best friend!
and i am happy to say that i am.

i love you re......xoxoxoxoxox
rain, rain go away and please come back another day!
Ok mother nature I'm not sure why you are mad at the sun but its time to end the battle.
I'm not sure if you and the rain are now bffs this year and are completely trying to ignore the sun or if the sun has done something to you for you to completely disown him.
My plants are drowning and my grass is growing triple the speed it is suppose to making it impossible for me to just sit by my new pool which I just got installed for relaxation. Not to have to empty unwanted water that the rain is giving.
So if you could just see your way to be friends with the sun again I would appreciate it greatly.
I haven't seen a squirrel in weeks. I haven't heard a bird chirp either. All I have seen is water falling from the sky. So split the friendship equally between the sun and the rain or you will be accused of favortism and you don't want that. Let's start now!
i just wanted to share with you some of the things that ash has made me this year in pottery class.

first she made this vase that was suppose to be for my birthday day but i wasn't ready in time.then she made this mask.
which re had to have so he could display it in the hot rod shop.

CARROT TOP PRINCESS

i had the honor of taking these photos of one of
my daughter's friend little girl
the other day and

i just wanted to share some of them.
i had so much fun taking these shots.

Please pray for my mother in law. We went to pick her up mothers day for our date we had sit up to take her to dinner that afternoon and she was sitting in a chair sleeping. Her friend that was there with her said they had been trying to wake her up since about noon. She is on so many meds that bo wonder she was sleeping. I carried 3 bags into the emergency room when we arrived. We counted 28 with this years date alone not including the ones that were dated last year and before. The test showed a high level of her anxiety medicine in her system which means she had either taken two many or one of the other medicines clashed with it. She has been in the hospital since Sunday night and just woke up yesterday morning when they meds finally wore off. After re and his brother talked to the doctors at noon yesterday the doctor said he was taking her off everything she didn't need. Please pray for her
I have the greatest daughter in the whole wide world. She bought me for mothers day a class at signed sealed delivered (the best scrapbooking store ever in our area) and what makes the gift the best is she bought her one too. So we could go together. Even though she doesn't like to scrapbook she is going to suck it up and go so we can spend time together doing something I like. That was her gift to me! I couldn't have ask for a better gift. I am so excited its tomorrow night and I hope we have a great time. I also hope I don't embarrass her to bad. But saying that I probably will so I better say sorry for my actions in advance.
Sorry Ashley!!!!!!!!:) but that is what scrapbooking is all about memories to share in the future. Trust me one day we will laugh at all the crazy things we have done, and you'll be able to tell your kids what a silly mimi they have. I love you with all my heart and I always will

Prom

May 9th, 2009 was a very emotional day for me it was my little girls junior/senior prom. This is the day that she had been counting down for months, and i was voted to take pictures for all her friends before prom so needless to say i was alittle nervous because not only was i going to take pictures they were bringing their parents.
The weather was touchy all day, we weren't sure if it was gonna rain or not but i prayed all day that it would just hold off until the pictures were taken. Drew finally got there to get dressed so i took this picture before they got ready for prom.
and this picture after they got ready for prom. they looked so great.
she even let me wear my zebra stripped shirt so i could match with her for our pictures. Even though i tried to go to prom with her she firming put her foot down and told me know.....as the time went on and the friends and their parents began to show up streaming in little by little i finally got this amazing picture of all of them together. i took pictures of the couples, of the girls alone, and then the guys alone and in my opinion the guys posed more than the girls and wanted to keep having them taken. but i have to say my favorite shots of all are the ones below.
you drew in your shiny shoes and her in her flip flopsi see myself in you when i was your age, and hopefully one day you'll have a daughter just like youyoung love forever is rememberedthe men in your life ash will always be your protectorswalk together side by side on your journey and adventures in lifeand there you go in your carriage on your way to prom.
