IMAGINE

WHAT IF RE HAD SPIKIE BLONDIE HAIR AND WORE A VISOR.
WOULD HE STILL BE A STUD OR WOULD HE NEED TO BE ON THE GEEK SQUAD?
WOULD HIS KIDS THINK HE IS THE COOLEST DAD EVER OR WANT HIM TO PARK DOWN THE STREET TO DROP THEM OFF AT SCHOOL?
WOULD HIS FAVORITE LITTLE MME'S (NIECES) STILL STAY "MY UNCLE RE RE IS THE COOLEST. WE LOVE GOING TO STAY WITH HIM AND OUR FAVORITE AUNT TERRY CAUSE SHE REALLY IS POPULAR EVEN THOUGH SHE WILL BE A OLD LADY ON SUNDAY." OR WOULD THEY SAY HOW EMBARRASSING...........PLEASE DON'T MAKE US RIDE IN THE SAME CAR WITH HIM. PEOPLE WILL THINK WE ARE HIS KIDS."
WELL I THINK HE'S THE BOMB! AND REALLY PEOPLE NOT EVERYONE CAN USE JUST FOR MEN TO COVER THEIR GRAY. WOMEN USE WIGS, AND HAIR EXTENSIONS WHY CAN'T HE DO THE SAME.
HE STILL MAKES ME LAUGH......

and the winner is

Cre.
yes he did it my little boy won his wrestling tournament. this was the first time cre had ever been in a tournament and he took 3rd place. this is his first year to wrestling and now he has found another sport besides football that he loves. now i won't go into how loud re was sitting in the stands yelling down instructions, but i will say that you would have thought that he was wrestling in a match of his own.

this is what i did this weekend......

we took the kids ice skating on sunday afternoon. they skated about 1.5 hours then was ready to go do something else. re and i didn't skate though cause we didn't want to break any of our important parts. it looked easy but that is not the case.

then on saturday i took some pictures out the house of jericho and ash and cre. i love black and white photos. they look even better when you use a old house or truck as back ground.
jericho

ash & cre

my favorite one! ash couldn't believe that cre was almost as tall as her.
i woke up early sunday morning before ice skating and got to scrapbook a few pages.

then i went to the office to get a head start for the week ahead.

my new idea

i have wanted a old antique looking door for quite some time. i wasn't sure what i wanted to do with it but i knew that i would come up with something. something that is just all yours and no one would ever have one just let it (it may be similar but not the exact same). so when re and i moved my craft room (which is now known as the Eagle's Nest) i wanted everything in their to look aged not everything needed to look brand new. re and i saw many old doors for sale at different antique malls along the way but they are very costly, so re wanted to try something called crackle painting to give things a aged look and it worked beautifully on the regular wood door that is in Eagle's Nest.

so after many days of thinking of ideas i came up

my memory door

(now keep in mind it is a work in process)

I have a few pictures that are memories that i want to share with who ever visits the eagle's nest, and so i modge podge the items on the door. it doesn't have to be just pictures it can be anything special such as a poem that was written by your kids or i even modge podged a scrap page that my niece had mode of her dad at the lake. i have pictures of ash and cre when they were little and i have some of re and i. miss peppermint (my 1950 truck) is my center piece because she is a very special treasure of our family and one that we will always have great memories of. i think i myself like the look of the black and white photos on the door the best. remember these represents my favorite things/memories, and by the time it is complete i will have to find another door maybe not attached to anything but just to lean against the wall. when it is completed it will be just a collage of my favorite things.

p.s. i need to get a picture of my other niece on there because i just once that out of my two niece's i only have one of them up there. a funny thing about this memory door is when i was starting to creating it ash says to me why is there a picture of uncle j and dem and everybody except me. do you love them more or something. haha she was jealous!!!!!

pondering

do you ever just sit and think about the future?

what you could do to improve it?

where you'll be in 10 years, 5 years, or even next year.

do you ever just ask yourself

"have i been the best that i could have been?"

if not have i made up for the things that i have done or said wrong?

today i have been just sitting at my desk pondering what life has in store for us next.

i have been thinking what can i, should i, could i, or would i do next.

who could i help?

where will re and i be in 10 years, 5 years, or even next?

will we be working as hard and as long as we do currently or we finally be able to go home and enjoy our life. not worrying about is this done at the office or is that done..(i don't mind hard work as long as it counts for something, anything it just needs to count.

after all day of this pondering i do hope that we will still be the same two people we are now, maybe a little wiser, hopefully a little thinner, but still sugar (me) and spice (re) because that is what makes best friends.

and also in 10 years i better have some little ash's, cre's, bre's, because by then i'll almost be 45 and will need to know that the feelings i have now about my kids growing up will be felt by my kids except worst since they think it's so funny.

Milestones come when we least expect them

so last night i was sitting in the office talking to my gma on the phone to see if she weathered the ice storm in OK when i heard cre in the kitchen banging around and so when the call ended with gma i walked out of the office and so the conversation went.........

me: i am fixing to cook supper what was you getting in the kitchen?

(him sitting on the couch eating something in a bowl)

cre: eggs

me: Eggs! (thinking he probably cooked them in the microwave learning that from his big sister ash since that's her main means of cooking) How did you cook those eggs cre the microwave?

cre: The oven I mean the stove. These egges are good!

me: (trying to catch my breathe) THE STOVE! You don't cook on the stove. Who taught you how to cook on the stove? Did you make a mess? (expecting the worst as i walked into the kitchen)

cre: i taught myself. i cleaned my mess up. what's the big deal?

me: (speechless when i walked in the kitchen only to find that it was clean with only one little mini skillet in the sink.) cre did you use pam?

cre: yes mom i did?

me: (tears starting to swell into my eyeballs) cre you didn't even ask me to do it for you. (refusing to let him know that he did it right except that little bit of burn smell that came from the stove) next time you ask me cause im not ready for you to cook.

cre: okay mom!

i thought to myself do i work so much that i missed this learning experience or is ash making him do this stuff at home while she's home. so i wanting to blame someone for this called her and said (knowing it wasn't true)

me: i am crying right now.

ash: what is wrong?

mom: cre just cooked eggs on the stove.

ash: (with a shocked voice) OMG when?

mom: just now

ash: (laughing very loud)

mom: and i am blaming this on you? did you teach him this?

ash: no did he use pam?

mom: yes.

ash: well he has never did it but he watches me cook them all the time.

mom: so then it is your fault. i am putting you responsible it this matter....

ash: ok mom bye. (while still laughing)

oh my, i still havent decided what i think about this. no mattter how hard i try i can't stop them from growing up. i wish i could have just one more day of them while they were a baby. i would not put the down all day.
