wish me luck, because life just gets so busy that we forget to stop and smell the roses.
good luck to all on their resolutions as well.

a recap of 2008 for me would be

economy went to hell in a hand basket. month by month it got worst and worst but alll we can do is pray that things get better in the new year. pray, pray, pray, and when you think you've prayed enough pray somemore.

i lost 30 pounds and set a goal to walk/jog my first ever 5K this coming april 2009. i starting working out and trying to eat right. that's been a struggle in it's self.

i have worked more this year than i have ever worked in my whole entire life, but i finally realize that if it's not all done that day it will be there the next day when you return.

i won my first
best of show
with my 1950 chevy
truck the peppermint express.

re and i opened a new business for our hot rod hobby and have found a love of old cars and we have met alot of new people going to show all over the four state area. i also started a up and coming (under construction currently) website for this company, and have a monthly newsletter that i send out with a growing address book to let folks know of upcoming car shows for the month.
went through several employees and met new friends and lost a few friends. realized that my little girl is going to move out one day soon because she's not little anymore. realized that my little boy is a pre-teen now and that comes with new stages. and realized that i may not see my stepson for awhile beacause once they get to a certain age they don't come to visit.
i hosted another thanksgiving and i hosted a christmas dinner for my step mothers family this year at our home. had the time of my life. made it through the holidays and learned that even if things aren't perfect there are certain people who think you are. (and thats the best feeling in the whole.)
lost my step father-in-law
bought some old cars and sold/traded a few.
won a lot of awards at different car shows.
finally realized my favorite hobbies
scrap booking
cooking
showing old cars/trucks
taking photos
but the most of all the most important thing that i learned this year was i need to take time and stop and smell the roses. (which in 2008 there was not a time that i can very remember doing that) and that makes me very sad because this year fell by and i worked the whole time from 3 am to most nights 10 pm. Which is why today i am going to post any blog of my new year resolutions and trust me i am a stickler for goals they inspire me to be a better person.

Today was a great morning for me

even though I woke up with a horrible headache and had to take a few advil to make it go away but by the time I left the house it had gone away. I ate a banana and drunk a diet mt.dew before i left the house then went to the bank to make a deposit for the company and then off to rac where i walked 47 laps (3.2 miles) then I went to the shop to get a start on my day and decide to take a few moments to blog while eating my apple and trying to finish my very large bottle of smart water which i love.
i have been thinking of my gaols for the new year and by tomorrow will be able to blog them for everyone to read and hopefully i can inspire you all too.
maybe if i hurry and get all my work doe here at the office today i can get home in time to start moving my scrapbooking/craft area to another bigger and better space in my home.

Christmas Memories

Here are a few of the memories that I will remember this Christmas.

A new purse will bring a smile everytime and shoes even a bigger smile. She reminds me everyday how long it is until she graduates or until she's out on her own, then I cry and she says "Mom, I am growing up and I can't always live with you." So I'll will just cherish the time that she is still under my roof, and try not to drive her to crazy.

It amazes me how big he's getting but yet at Christmas the my little guy comes out. He wanted that jersey more than anything in the world and when he opened it the first thing he did was put it on. My future football player first he wants to be a Oklahoma Sooner and then the skies the limit.

There is a phrase that I saw once and try to always remember

Cherish the small things
for one day
you will realize
that they were
really
the big things......

Christmas Time Rush

well i have not been a very good blogger this month and the diet and exercise well lets just say I took the month of December as a vacation for that. I have been so busy that I have not found the time to go exercise and to keep track of my food intake either. I know the holidays are no time for a vacation from that but i can't think of any other reason. i do know that as soon as the holiday's are over my route will be back to normal and all will be well again. It's funny how when you get use to a certain thing like diet and exercise then you just stop cold turkey it makes you feel like crap. You have no energy and you are just in a state of blah. I hate that feeling.
As for my activities all have gone very well the parades were a hit and in fact I was even on the news one night riding in the parade on my 41 willy's scooter in my reindeer costume it was great. I almost have all my christmas shopping done all except my husbands and a few more stocking stuffers for the kids. this Sunday i am having christmas with re's dad and stepmom and family (that's the majority of my christmas shopping there is alot of them) i can't wait.
i have been wrapping presents ever day for the past couple of weeks at the office and a few at home since i am at the office most of the time it is easier for me to wrap them there.
if i don't get a chance to blog anymore until after the holidays i hope everyone has a very merry christmas and a happy and joyful new year.

One down

Well I did it... I completed one holiday event with only a few tears but alot of happy memories. As you have probably read before my holidays are jammed packed with events. Thanksgiving, Christmas Parades, Dinners, Parties, Christmas lights, etc.
Thanksgiving is now complete I did it with the help of my sister in law (lm). I am glad she was there to help me get all the food ready. I am usually a do it yourself type, but this year I opened my kitchen to help. It was GREAT!!!
Next event is tomorrow night THE CHRISTMAS PARADE! We are driving our hot rods in the town christmas parade and our entry name is EAGLE HOTT RODZ HELPING SANTA DELIVERING TOYS TO ALL GOOD GIRLS AND BOYS. My husband has been working very hard to get the hot rods ready.
This coming sunday it is my turn to host my mother in laws family in their annual white elephant christmas or chinese christmas it is very fun and almost everyone that is coming has never been to my home before and I am very excited about that. But I have to take down the fall decor and put up the christmas decor.
then the 2 more parades and the christmas at my mother in laws and then christmas at my dad's house and christmas at my grandma's then I am thinking of hosting a New Years Eve Party then I gotta get everything at the office closed out and all the 2009 stuff ready. OMG how am I gonna get it all done. One day at a time that's how.
So tomorrow I am going to go to the office early and then after I drop CRE off at school I am going to start my new aerobic session and then head to the office and work until noon and then get the rest of the things I need for the parade and get CRE and be in line and smiling as I drive my miss pep down the street waving and remembering why I am thankful. I am thankful for everything that me and re have and our family and friends and our home and business.
if i could i am gonna take a minute and talk about the diet. I haven't got to exercise and eat right in awhile because I have lost focus. I am not a loser but I do want to be a loser with this diet I want to lose 35 more lbs. I am going to lose that weight because I am going to get focused again starting now. 3 miles a day or more and then one to two exercise classes a day and the will power that I use to have. I have to remember that April 25 I am going to do a 5k Race and I am going to do it in the time that I have set for myself with hopefully family and friends by my side and also watching on the sidelines cheering me on. I CAN GET THROUGH ALL THE HOLIDAYS AND EVENTS THAT I HAVE PUT ON MY OWN PLATE. I do not fail. God is on my side and with his love I can do it.

Birthdays

Friday was my little boys (cre) 11th birthday. This weekend we took him to see the Oklahoma Sooners defeat Texas Tech. We sat on the 9th row of the south end zone and he took his best friend with him. He had a blast now he thinks this is going to be an every year event. From the time he could talk he has always said when I grow up I'm gonna play football for OU even though we are Razorback fans. He still looks OU. Now I must say being from Oklahoma myself I am a fan at heart as well.

The holidays are always the bestest time of year for me. For the past few years I have hosted Thanksgiving at my house and there are usually about 40 people total that I cook for. This year I am also hosting re's (my husband) step mom's family for what they call a white elephant christmas (men bring men gifts and ladies bring ladies gift then we play a little game to see who ends up with what.) there should be about 50 attending that. WOW! It is on Dec. 7th. So let's break it down on thanksgiving and the week after I am cooking a every large dinner for a lot of family. I love it though the stress gets to me right at the last minute but I love every minute if it. I love having family gatherings. It's not going to help the diet though.

The diet that is the whole reason I started this blog for support with a goal that I have set for myself. I have lost a total of 30 lbs. since Dec 1, 2007, but I'm now at a stand still not gaining and not losing either. On April 25, 2009 I am going to run in my first ever 5K Run. I am not a jogger, but I walk faster than most people jog so I'm told. I just need support.

So the reason for the blog is the let people know how I'm eating, sleeping, working, stressing, blah, blah, blah......If you have any comments please feel free, if you have any helpful pointers I would love to hear them.
